THE BASICS
Illamasqua has a very wide and great range of cream and powder blushes. They have 15 powder blushes in their range from which I chose Hussy during their 50% off sale. The blush contains 4.5g of product.
MY OPINION
I had heard Illamasqua blushes are a must-try product. So there was no stopping me during their sale. Unfortunately some other shades that I was after went out of stock quite quickly. Although I did manage to grab this widely-acclaimed Hussy which as you can see is a matte bright candy pink colour. The colour is definitely gorgeous, very flattering, very feminine, gives a perfect rosy tint and makes me glow.
Sadly for some reason there is huge problem with the quality of this blush. Maybe I got a bad piece or something since I have read only good reviews about it. For being such a high-end blush it is way too powdery, one swipe of the brush in the pan and specks fall everywhere. Since it is so pigmented I have to make sure that I keep away from my vanity or it will have pink dust all over it.
The blush as I said is richly pigmented, needs a softer hand to apply well. I also have a little difficulty blending it, it doesn't go so smooth. It does have an amazing lasting power, fading evenly during the absolute end of the day.
I got this blush for half of its actual price and no doubt the colour is indeed gorgeous. It is a bummer though that I have to really work with it to make it look beautiful since my piece sucks in quality. I love the colour but I never take this particular blush around with me knowing I can't just dab it on the go.
Illamasqua Powder Blush in Hussy (swatch) |
The colour of Hussy is just so amazing, unfortunately for some reason the quality of my blush really sucks. It is as powdery as you'd expect from a generic brand when it actually costs 20 bucks.
