MY OPINION
Velvet lip pencils! Sound amazing, don't they? Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencils/Lipsticks are essentially chubby lip pencils that promise intense pigmentation and satiny feel. Few months back, I got myself two shades. Nude Perfection which is a perfect yellow-toned nude and In With Coral which is a bright pinkish-coral. Both colours no doubt have amazing colour payoff. Maybelline was definitely true to their claim in this area. The formula applies on quite creamy and settles into a semi-matte finish. The lipsticks do have a tendency to highlight imperfections. But the biggest let-down for me is that they feel really dry and uncomfortable. The lasting power is also pretty average.
The lip pencils/lipsticks are made of wood just like a normal pencil instead of plastic as we have seen in other chubby sticks. That is why, they give a faint scent of crayon when you are applying them. And you will also need a large sharpener to sharpen them which sometimes can be a nuisance.
All in all, this range definitely offers some fabulous shades for quite an amazing price so I definitely do not regret my purchase. On and off, I do wear these lipsticks for shorter periods of time.
