Hello Summer! Welcome to the span of bright pink lipsticks and flushed coral cheeks. It is when the complexion gets glowier, the lips get rosier and the nails get bolder. So today, I am bringing you my favourites of the Summer of 2016, products I have been reaching for all throughout the month.
P.S. Yes, I broke my Kevyn Aucoin highlighter and did a poor job of fixing it back up. :'( |
1. Urban Decay Vice 4 Eyeshadow Palette (limited edition)
What other eyesahdow palette can fit in so perfectly in Summer! Vice 4 has a gorgeous array of bright and neutral eyeshadows that make it ideal to carry around. I especially love using the emerald green 'Grasshopper', the bright teal 'Arctic' and the metallic peachy-pink 'Fastball' nowadays. For full review on this beauty, head here!
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation - $18
When people talk about glowy foundations, there's always someone who mentions the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum! I gave into the hype this season and purchased a bottle. And I absolutely adore the natural, radiant finish it imparts. Definitely something I will be using all throughout the year!
3. ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in 'Tongue-Tied' (limited edition)
I have to say I am not a huge fan of ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips or their Highlighters. But their blushes were a good surprise. Tongue-Tied was part of In Bloom Set and is a super bright warm coral with a matte finish. It has a lot of pigmentation but when applied with a soft hand it gives a gorgeous rosy flush.
4. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara - $26
Sometimes you don't want your lashes to feel heavy with all the heat and humidity around. Plus, the mascara needs to stay in place and not melt away. I find Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara perfect for an everyday, natural look without it being smudged throughout the day. All in all, it is very comfortable on the eyes!
5. Astor Natural Fit Sun Bronzer - $5
And for that sun-kissed glow I mostly reach for my Astor Sun Bronzer. It costs around 6 euros, pretty cheap and looks ah-mazing.
6. Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in 'Candlelight' - $44
I broke it *can't stop crying* Mourning apart, Candlelight is what dreams are made of..ah! Anyone who thinks Mary Lou Manizer gets overwhelming sometimes, needs this in their life. This pale-gold highlight is like silk to the touch. So finely milled and gives a gorgeous sheen!
7. Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in 'Tequila Sunrise' - $12
I swatched this gem in my recent haul. It is a peachy coral with a matte formula. This colour screams Summer! I mostly wear it with a lipbalm underneath and find it very comfortable. It does a lack a tad bit in pigmentation but couple of extra swipes do the job.
8. Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in '138 Fougueuse' - $37
Fougueuse is my perfect pink! Not too warm, not too cool, it is a flattering bright-ish medium pink with a glossy finish. This is definitely one of my all-time favourite lipsticks. The application is so velvety smooth and I never ever feel it on my lips.
9. Barry M Nail Paint in 'Passionfruit' - $5
Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine is my one of my favourite nail polish ranges. The colours are so fun and the finish is super glossy that I sometimes even skip the topcoat. Passionfruit is a bold reddish orange that gets opaque in 2 coats.
10. Barry M Nail Paint in 'Guava' - $5
From the same Gelly Hi Shine range, Guava is a rich teal colour with the same super glossy finish as Passionfruit. These two shades are my top Spring/Summer picks for sure!
